It takes a very long time to complete each series of works carefully.Chen Nong,the artist who born in Fuzhou,is looking for a perfect way of presentation in his every step of creation.Through the way of silver print by hand on classic watercolor paper,he began all of his work from a simple sketch to a new context while he was in the site.As both a photographer and a painter, watercolor and silver print all became his individual language.

The series work of Yellow River was made by Chen Nong between 2007 and 2008.Yellow River is our mother river.It has been surging forward since XUANYUAN Emperor till now,as it cultivates the Chinese nation generation by generation,carrying the Chinese thousands of years of civilization.The Hukou Waterfall is the most representative.Chen Nong tried to use scenes which gave birth to the nation to show that these uprising peasants are forced to be on despair,and have to burn their boats to death without any regret,as there is no way back.Each picture tries to express the complicated human nature of these peasants, such as barbarism,desperation, conspiracy,greed, unity,hypercriticism, division,metamorphosis, confusion,illusion, sincerity, materialism,hell,heaven, confidence,and even the final Nirvana.In the creation of Yellow River works,he used the way of silver print by hand on classic watercolor paper to make the true scenery cast a layer of subjective colors.

The series work of Dragon Bridge is Chen's recent works.These pictures were taken in Lu County,Sichuan Province.Since Song Dynasty,there have been about 170 bridges with dragon heads located in Lu County.Each bridge is delicately decorated by the stone dragon head with the simple flat body structure.In this series work of Dragon Bridge,Chen Nong chose some of the bridges that he is able to connect each other by showing the scene of native people's daily life. From the images of his works, you may see people carry their products or belongings for exchange.But through the way of silver print by hand on classic watercolor paper,Chen made the reality to fantasy.The Dragon Bridge has been given a new life through the view point of Chinese painting. The mirror-like surface of water is a metaphor for time,all the characters in the scene melted into the water. 
 All the series work of The Forbidden City,Three Gorges, Landing on the Moon,Yellow River,Water Lily, Dragon Bridge,wants to express Chen's opinion about a specific period of history,or a moment of glory,and so on.Playing with the picture of the history of China.Chen's work is not just a humorous image joke,but a pun of the history.
