      The Miners' Families
"......damn, in fact, making money is not most important to us, pal… not even our work is.
More important is our safety when underground and what that means to our families......'"This is what the miners usually said at a mutton soup house after they came up from underground.

It doesn't make any difference for these miners to spare more effort, or sweat more
underground, as it doesn't matter to them how much money they make. However, they really care that their security is guaranteed. Miners regard security as God's blessing, especially those on the mines' frontlines. In general, most of them are the backbones of their families, the only bread makers, and the only hope. So you can see how important it is to tap coals with security!

There is a simple ideal under such a special environment: to lead a happy life by making
money in safety.

Therefore, the miners have a good habit. They never forget to take their whole-family
photo with them when working underground. It always reminds them to be careful.

I am one of the miners who has personally experienced this. I've taken these happy
"Miners' Families" photographs, one by one, plainly and directly.

                                            Coal-mine Populace

The coal-mine populace is a significant group within Chinese society. They live in the mine
areas and participate in different occupations connected with the mines. They are not miners, yet their incomes are directly associated with the economic benefits of the mines. Most of them are the dependents of the miners themselves.

Only a few of the coal-mine populace offspring can
leave the mining areas for colleges and move to cities. The majority who cannot receive any further education must stay in the mines, acting as the next generation of miners or their family members. There are many more common people than there are miners in the mining areas; the coal- mine populace must be a huge figure in China.

It only takes a short amount of time, only several decades, to exploit a
coal mine.  The development of high technology and the increased speed of developing mine resources has lead to rapid industrial progress. On the other hand, these natural resources are limited, taking millions of years to form. Obviously, the minerals, mankind, and modern industrial production together form a very disharmonious relationship.
