Church 1966

    40 years ago, the Cultural Revolution took place in China, it was later called a major catastrophe.
   On August 18th, 1966, Chairman Mao received the Red Guards at the Tiananmen Square for the first time; it caused the Red Guard movement to spread throughout China.
    Wang Duanyang joined the Red Guards when he was a senior in his high school in Tianjin. On August 23rd 1966, Wang Duanyang used the only 11 frames left in his camera to record what was called by the Tianjin locals "The French Church" being attacked by the Red Guards.
    40 years have passed; perhaps these precious documents will give us something to reflect on.
